The light, setting, and DOF characteristics of the second one especially appeal to me. Sort of surprised to see that nice, natural DOF "fall-off" ( did I really say what I just said ) from a small format sensor like the G9. Could you check out the EXIF data and you give us an idea of the aperture used for that shot?
