That's a very amusing truncation!

But I do not recognize the format. Even on my cell phone the forum does not display like this.

in what circumstance does this format appear?

It's how the forum looks in Firefox, both in Windows and Linux. I am wondering myself why the topic title was not in bold face when I copied that yesterday.

Ah, yes! I can replicate it, although the fun disappears (pun intended) when you click in the Administrator's Appreciation Gallery...Photography Through the Microscope own forum title
