This tiny (just over 1 inch) bagworm decided that THIS was the ideal place to set up house. The car had been parked there for only one day and at first I thought this was a thorn stuck in the tyre (tire). I knew the vehicle was going to be used the following day, so I removed him to a nearby plant where he is still hanging.

Could well be something in family Psychidae, the Bagworms.
Probably not Psyche casta, though. That particular species is native to the northern hemisphere, while Joan is in South Africa.
