Thanks!

Close physically but in practice now not so much.

Have not bought anything from the UK since brexit - has anyone in the EU tried?

Are we talking import tax plus extra shipping costs?

Got some! :)

I am pleased to say I have been able to source some Cargille Type B from the USA via a generous forum member.

I am nevertheless curious as to whether there are European manufacturers of immersion oil and who they might be.

You might try Thorlabs: https://www.thorlabs.com/newgrouppage9. ... up_id=5381
They are an American firm, but when you order from Europe they will send the goods from Germany.

An European outfit is Euromex, from Holland. They sell through distributors and also through Amazon;

I have, though few items and mostly low-cost, except a viol bow that was more expensive but may have been in one of the grace periods. Sofar I haven't been hit with unusual payments.
What are Abbe Numbers, and what are the consequences of the differences in viscosity?

Good to know.

Wanted to try the higher viscosity (condenser/slide) as I thought I could do with a little more range (condenser movement) in setting up Köhler.
