Global Warming--not in New Hampshire

Post by beetleman »

I took these photos on 26-Feb. 2008 a few days before we were supposed to get another 6" on top of this. I call the third one "Waiting For Spring" We are about 14" from breaking the all time snowfall total for New Hampshire. yes, that is "Beetleman of the North"

Wow that is some heavy snowfall there Doug. I like the first photo the best, it depicts the beauty of the winter season, though for folks up your way, I am sure you could do with something a bit warmer. You know if you were not in that second photo, I could swear you shot these in black and white, which would be okay I suppose, there is not much in the way of color on days such as these. Thanks for sharing them Doug. Stay warm...

Lovely photos!

Are the kayaks yours, or just a spot of color at the local rental shop?

these pictures are beautiful Doug. I REALLY like that first image, good eye.

I too do not subscribe to the global warming concept. I do believe in protecting the environment, but to use scare tactics like that just annoys me. Al Gore has said that he exagerated the issue to get people to change their ways.

OK, I'm biting my tongue on this one because I have strong opinions in the opposite direction.

But this photographic forum is not the place to debate such matters. Along with religion, politics, and pretty much everything else contentious and non-photographic, those discussions need to take place somewhere else.

Does anybody use them at this time of year?

Kayaking in the snow can be lots of fun, but, um, you do have to be properly dressed for it. :D

Here in Berkshire, UK (just north of "old" Hampshire) we get the early spring (although the latest is that spring seems to be losing its identity) but have also had rather more frosts in recent years. We are in a frost hollow just above river (Thames) level.
