How brilliant are these? Love the colours, just wonderful. What are the insects in the second photo, please? Is it a type of wasp beetle?

Yes, same family, one of the "longhorn beetles", Coleoptera:Cerambycidae. The larvae are wood-borers, adults often eat pollen and are found mating on flower heads, like these.
