springtime beauty

Post by zook »

Last year, I barely saw one or two of these scarce swallowtail butterflies (Iphiclides podalirius), but this year there were dozens. I used the opportunity and made several shots.

2.

Everything was taken with Fuji X-T20, K&F concept adapter + NIKON ED AF Micro Nikkor 200mm 1:4D; tripod; natural light on cloudy weather, f11 with different speeds and ISO.

Very beautiful ... pictures.. (the butterfly we all know it's beautiful)
the detail and light in the 2 - 3rd are wonderful.. shame your flicker doesn't expands to full size..

I was going to ask you about the situation, but everything is in he last line of your post... anyway I could guess the most of it.
Just tell me please ..

how far were you from the subject?

I'm asking because my next buy is the old AI-S version of that lens ( I can't afford the most recent one).. I have a Tamron 180mm macro but I want a Nikon 200mm...

Thanks!

Antonio, distance from front glass of the lens to subject was about 1m in both photo.
I use Velbon VS-443 and Vanguard GH-200 for easy mobility and quick response on the spot.... left hand on central column of tripod and right hand on pistol-head grip, and sistem is in good posittion in a few seconds... :)

Beautiful pictures of the butterfly! I really like the soft backgrounds too.

Thank you ....
now I'm looking for an affordable alternative to the GH-200 "Pistol Grip Ball"...
