43 images stacked handheld! Wow!
How does the same single frame look, when it is lit by well-diffused flash at an oblique angle at f/22? I am guessing some details, such as compound eyes, may appear even sharper if in focus, while some out of focus details may not look as nice?
What was the on-sensor magnification, or approximate field of view in mm?
Thank you for sharing!

The next piece of kit I want to get is a good flash and I have high hopes of being able to apply a similar technique to that described by Robin Wong on his website. Something like "diffused handheld off camera flash for insect photography". What I do want to avoid though, is that sort of butterflies at night look.
The Oly 60 mm macro has a button that you twist to get closest focus which I did use and then it focused back a bit. I would guess the Robber fly to be about 15 mm.
