VIS vs FL

Post by MASZEK »

Hey.

I like fluorescent effects due to interesting colors. And that's why I sometimes compare the results obtained with visible and fluorescent light. Small fragments of plants in the pictures.

Greetings

Maszek, thank you for these impressive images - I can even get the stereo images to fuse in my head (which I have some troubles with usually).

Is the FL pure UV excitation or do you use multiple wavelengths?

Cheers

:smt038 Very nice.
The stereo pairs really pop out.
Thanks for sharing.

Te occasions that I can get the stereo-pairs to fuse are rare and this is not one of them...

Macek, you write that you like the colours, but what I see (in the topmost pair) is that the subtle colours are traded for over-saturated reds.

Bravo, MASZEK! I also enjoyed viewing/comparing your images. My favorites are the two stereo pairs at the bottom of your post--the same plant part photographer under vis/fluorescent light.

Could you please provide the specifics for the fluorescent images (light source, filters, etc.)?

I like these too.
The first has strong contrast, reds and blue/white. What plant is it? I'd like to try that one.
Perhaps another colour, or a little natural light, could fill the shadows a little.

Dear

carlos.uruguay, Jacek, ChrisR, Chris S. iconoclastica, Sumguy01, pbraub.

I want to thank You very much for devoting your time and comments. Answering for your questions:

- I am neither biologist nor botanist. Therefore I have problem with specific name those organism which were photographed by me. I am treating it just like hobby. Microscopic slides I choose by accident. I am size slide up casually and if it is ok I handle it further.

By FL lighting I use excitation filter UG1, barrier filter PZOGG9, or PZOOG1+GG9. With the aim to generating stereopairs I am using ZS Programm. On the end of my work I use GIMP : light exposition + delicate improvement of background. I don't improve colours by computer.

Now I attach new photos .

Best regards
