gold, again

Post by soldevilla »

New minerals in my collection. It is very curious, and incomprehensible to me, that the same objective produces results so different according to the nature of the object photographed.
These two photographs correspond to the same sample (in fact, they are less than 5 mm apart). The "lettuce" (really Chenevixite) has not cost me any effort with the Nikon x20. The gold I had to repeat it four times because apart from the difficulties of the glitters and halos, showed terrible chromatic aberrations with exactly the same optical configuration.
Both are from Maria Josefa mine, Rodalquilar, Almeria

Nice pictures. Certainly, the effort dedicated to the gold specimen was well spent, tiny but really good!!!

Hi there soldevilla,
Gold is a fascinating specimen to photograph.
You have done it beautifully. I´ve done some myself, they are a challenge.

Thanks for sharing :D
Kind Regards
Harald
