What you wanted see in Scanning Electron Microscope?
My dream came true - I got a temporary access to a scanning electron microscope
resolution up to 10 nanometers
What interesting and unusual advise to take pictures ?
my first results here:

SEM produces stunning images as you well know
Even being more visually appealing in many cases I dislike the colored SEM images because of the false colors.
An interesting project would be to take an optical focus stack of the same subject before ion sputting and then to try to get the same view with the SEM and use the optical image to clone the colors on to the electronic image. It could be difficult but you would end with the best of both worlds: high resolution with natural colors

Do the colors in these images mean anything at all? Or are they added arbitrarily in post-processing?
