You may find SolidWorks far easier to create your model; even engraved or embossed lettering on a conical surface is quite easy and intuitive. If you are on a very tight budget you may want to use FreeCAD on a free operating system even! Take a look at threads on dpreview for legacy lenses on NX-mini. From memory one guy has succeeded by making the thread angle very shallow presumably to allow the printer a chance of interpreting a fine thread - getting some filament in there! I hope admin can place this “thread” in the correct place? Some may like this OTT model for Praktica B lenses and accessories to a NX-mini ? Note that unlike machining complexity is not necessarily expensive in 3D printing.

I have designed a simple machined part now under manufacture as I could not rely on third party sizing (calibration.) Keep pushing back the boundaries -

Injecting a link that other people may find helpful...

"Make: an open source hardware, Arduino-powered, 3D-printed wire-bending machine"
https://boingboing.net/2018/10/22/crimp ... crimp.html

The video is a 15 minute tour of design and implementation. I found it informative and inspiring.

I was particularly interested in the quality of the 3D printing shown in the video, for example on the gear surfaces. Associated documentation at https://all3dp.com/1/creality-cr-10-3d- ... -the-hype/ says that "Fitted with a 0.4mm nozzle, Creality notes the CR-10’s maximum resolution as 100 microns."

Do you think what's shown in the video is straight off the printer, or has it been cleaned up somehow?

Sorry, Rik, somehow I missed your question.
Looking the video, looks like most of the parts are straight off the printer, only few supports had to be cleaned, mostly from holes (one is still there ...)

12. Ysaron 240mm TL lens adapter

Ysaron 240mm tube lens adapter M42. You need 42mm-52mm step-down and step-up lens filter adapters from ebay. Press them in using epoxy/superglue etc. I used Weld-On #16.

:smt026 I can use that :D

Looks like a very good surface finish. Are you using a solvent-chamber for the finish?

Nope, Photoshop
BTW, it is for this type of Microphot.
SA coarse knob is smaller

I have to design something for SA type also, because (I suspect) it is the same size what is used on the Labophot 2 (maybe Optiphot 2 also?)

Hmm Microphot's diffrent. I need one for MM as well:

Like an Optiphot 1?
just under 60mm diameter.

I meant the surface finish on your prints is good - even where it's not post processed.

SA??

My adaptation for the Nikon MM type head.
But...tried Microphot adapter on it...and it fits ! Little bit stiff and not sure about right coupler size (I'm using Velcro), but it should work.
SA??
Not sure, what I'll do with SA and Lab 2 (bought them for parts). First will try thin insert between knob & FX adapter :) ...

Saul,

That's a really nice looking adapter you've made :D

Gotta love those 3D printers in the hands of an expert user

Best,
Thanks, Mike ! I'm far away from the expert :) But it is enough for my hobby ...
