New "Macro" Lens (not so serious post)

Post by sushidelic »

Inspired by all the lens test threads here on the forum, I took the chance to test a quite unusual macro lens.

Here's the result (laser printed greyscale bar):

Ok, I have to admit, that's macro-wise not so impressive... But it was the best I was able to achieve, considering this picture was taken from 27.5m / 90 feet away ;).

Unfortunately, the setup is a bit bulky to use at around 100kg...

Best regards,
Michael

Resolution would be better than Mitu if you put a Raynox lens in front of it. No wait, Raynox can barely fit on the finder lens..........

Not only this, I am still trying to figure out how to put it on a stacking rail...

No need for a rail. Just place the subject on the moon and take several shots as it approaches perigee :D

Do you really need rail?

The dof should be like 50cm

Nice AstroPhysics mount. Is that an old AP900? What's the telescope you're using?

Yes, this is one of the later AP 900GTO models, precessor of the AP 1100.
The scope is a Zeiss Meniskas 180/1800.
Best regards,
Michael

Whoa!

Would it be possible to stack two of these?
