Thanks for the link, Lothar, but hmm, seems too good to be truth, doesn't it? :? Have you bought from that site? Is it legit?

I ordered two, but did not get a reply nor was my credit card billed. Seems to be a dead link :-(

I'm glad I completed my setup before our government decided to remove the $1000 AUD robbery... I mean tax free importing.

Now there's "handling fees" which is fine, and on top of that a 10% theft I mean GST. Ridiculous. I needed 4 post holders:

Cost: $15
Shipping: $40
GST: $7
Handling: $5

Should just buy new items from a distributor next time.

I suspected something like that :( Well, no biggie... Just was curious to try the Sigma.

I actually almost never use 180mm+ tube lenses with the Mitus. If I have to work at around 5X, I rather use the 7.5 with 135mm tube lens instead of the 5X with 200mm TL. At around 7X I use the 10 instead of the 7.5... Coverage is not a problem on APS-C.

Best,

By the Way.. did anybody try the Marumi close-up filters?

The filters are achromatic and the 5D (200mm) of small dimater size, 49 & 52, mm diameter cost around 50euros, new.

Yes, I tried the +5 (200mm FL). Not worth using as tube lens. Performance (and coverage) was significantly worse than Raynox 150, Apo-Gerogon 210, G-Claron 210 and other lenses I used.

Good to know that Macrero, thanks! What did you think of the Apo-Geragon and G-Claron relative to the Raynox?

Haven't made direct comparison, but the A-G and G-C works great as tube lenses, in 210, 150 and 240mm FL. They performs virtually equal. Although not marked as "Apo", G-Claron lenses are just as well corrected as the Apo-Gerogons.

I use much more often the Apo-Gerogon 150 than the 210, but performance is very close to the Raynox 150. Unfortunately I can't make a proper comparison, since I recently sent the Raynox to a friend, but If someone makes a comparison and it turns out that the Apo-Gerogon does better than the Raynox, I would not be shocked :D though I believe that performance will be about the same and if there are differences, they would be minimal.

Wish I was that smart.

My first two Minolta 5400s? I paid $85 for Type I and $95 for type II. If I only knew what I had! 5400s were just sitting online with no bids.

Then I turn around and sell my second Min5400 to a friend. For cost
