Hello,

Rhizocarpon geographicum is the map lichen. My finding is from Timmelsjoch, Tyrol, @ 2600 m alt.

- Closeup Thallus

- section apothecium, LCB stain

- section apothecium and thallus, fluorescence with blue LED @440 nm. Orange fluorescence in the cortex is from rhizocarpic acid, beneath the red chlorohyll fluorescence from the photobiont.

- muriform spores
