I bought the $17 Amscope 4X for a Labophot microscope. When using it to look through an eye piece it works fine. For photography though it is not filling an APS-C frame though. Looking at tests other people have done, this seems like it is an issue of my lighting rather than the objective.
Here is a photo showing how the images are clipped:
I am directly projecting an image by removing the head of the microscope and installing extension tubes.
This seems to work fine with my Nikon 10X objective. The dovetail to M42x1 adapter required some grinding to sit flat, but other than that the setup seems robust:
Anyone know a fix for this clipping?
Maybe something wrong about the distance from the condenser to the objective that an extension could fix?
Would I likely experience the same problem on the LOMO 3.7X objective or a Nikon CFN 4x objective?
