This video by Dan Gelbart shows how to make relatively inexpensive flexures. I 3d printed one which surprisingly worked quite well.

p.s. His series of videos is well worth watching if you're making things.

Elf, I found the Dan Gelbart video particularly enlightening, and immediately watched two more this gentleman's videos. It's now on my list to watch his whole series, as you recommended.

Dan's video is really interesting, clever devices indeed! Thanks for showing.

Brings back long ago memories (~1980) of the Invar Moving Mirror Interferrometer (8-12 microns) we developed for a Remote Sensing Chemical Agent Detector (XM21) where we used "Flex Pivots" for the moving mirror. He mentioned these in the video. Haven't heard about them for almost 40 years!
