Spittle bug nymph, w/o the spit, unusual. :-k Usually these surround themselves in a bubbly froth to keep out of the sight of predators and to prevent dehydration. Oftentimes you will notice them on stems of grass and twigs appearing as though someone had "spit" there. Excellent photo! 8)

Thanks Ken ! Nymph just left old spit ( maybe because of me) and started building new one. She was so active, I could not make a stack ...
