Yesterday was the annual excursion of the Quekett Microscopical Club to the Basingstoke Canal at Brookwood. Here is a link to some photos:

We were threatened with rain, but in fact the weather was excellent and sunny, allowing us to have a leisurely walk to do some botany, whilst also collecting water samples for microscopical examination. My wife and daughter came along too, and the pictures are a selection of the family's photos.

The excursion to the Basingstoke Canal has become an annual event for the Quekett Microscopical Club, and we were there again 2 days ago.

You can see a report on the Quekett website, with photographs of the canal, the members, their equipment and some of the specimens that we photographed with cameras and microscopes.

Members of the Quekett Microscopical Club will be visiting the Basingstoke Canal again on Saturday 16th July 2016, based in Brookwood Memorial Hall in Surrey (GU24 0AL, adjacent to 150 Connaught Road).

If you are free, please drop in to see us and our microscopes and cameras. There is free parking in the grounds of the Hall, which is a short walk from Brookwood Station.
