Image Problem
Any thoughts regarding the horizontal banding at the right edge of this image. Stacked with both Helicon and Zerene. Same result 5X Nikon Toolmaker objective 120 images.
Welcome to the Forum Robbie.
Those streaks are benign!
This should explain all:

In case you were wondering, Rik Littlefield who is the main administrator of the forum, wrote Zerene Stacker.
The dark wiggles running 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock, are sensor dust.

Those are the remains of out-of-focus images, not completely removed by the stacking process. What could be causing the "ghosting" near the edge of the most superior part of this image?
The problem is that focus-stacking software is in the business of retaining detail, but in uniform background there is no real detail, only the false detail provided by the edges of blur circles.
In Zerene Stacker, this issue can be addressed by using DMap and adjusting the contrast threshold slider so that troublesome parts of the background go "black in preview". This is discussed to some extent in the How To Use DMap tutorial, and in more detail in the Advanced Retouching video tutorial, both indexed at https://www.zerenesystems.com/cms/stack ... rialsindex . See also http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... 728#211728 and the surrounding thread for a more recent discussion.
The subject that you're photographing is one of the frequent cases where the best results will come from merging DMap and PMax outputs using the retouching tool. You may also want to use retouching, perhaps combined with Stack Selected, to address the issue of "transparent foreground", which I see at the end of the antenna. This latter issue is discussed at https://www.zerenesystems.com/cms/stack ... foreground .
