Good shots :D I often wonder about the abdominal markings on spiders, are they intended to relay a message to other spiders, maybe to a possible mate or something or another. :-k

You've got me. I don't even play an entomologist on TV.

The marking on the top of the orb weaver's abdomen looks like a dead leaf to me. Maybe it's camouflage.

Could be for camouflage, it's a rough world out there, even for a spider. :)
