A rare opportunity with a beautiful model

Spotted this fairly large ruby tailed wasp (about 9.7mm body length) on some wood in the neighbour's garden.
It seemed to be more interested in having a clean than in what I was doing which is fairly unusual for these wasps.

5dmk2/MPE-65/430Ex flash. All shots focus stacked using zerene.

This is terrific! I have a similar species, and can't get near it. They never stop running.
