Tiny flower with "signature"

Post by MacroLuv »

I found it on the lawn and have no idea about ID. :D (I mean flower, not finger. )
My finger is about 20 mm wide, in profile even thinner. Here is semi-profile. By "signature" I ment fingerprint. 8)

Well now that you have showed us all the "finger," I find that these tiny little flowers are really a pain to try and identify. I have searched the web looking for galleries of such but there seems not to be any or maybe I am looking in the wrong places. I am sure these tiny wonders have some importance in the scheme of things. :-k

Well Nikola, you can tell you do IT work, your fingers are very clean. I would not put my finger in a picture. My prints and fingers have little cracks and dirt and macro would make me look like a caveman  . That is one small flower

I love these tiny works of art and (as I said in one of Jordan's recent postings) would love to see more of them appearing on our forum. So thank you for this one Nikola.

Bruce :D

...interestingly Jordan made the same observation re. the problems he'd experienced in identifying his tiny flower.

hey that thing is tiny! great shot. they are a pain to get an i.d though.

i did get an id for most of the one i have now, look for a group of experts in your local area. i searched everywhere and the best bet was just to ask someone who knows what they are doing to at least give you a family name to search under which makes it a lot easier. also a lot of pictures of every part of the plant helps. leafs, plant structure, color, texture, size. the more the easier it is to find or get an i.d.

i have tons of tiny yellow flowers on my lawn.
