mosquito wings

Post by Wim van Egmond »

I think this is the mosquito with the best looking wings. Culiseta annulata. A larger species with white spots on its legs. In the past I have also made micrographs of the wings but this way you can show colourful reflections in the wings.

I use the 3 images trick to show more details.

Wim, this is astounding!

The feathery edges, combined with the diffraction in the wings make for a stunning image.

Hi Wim...long time no see. An incredible set of wings and photos. Simply beautiful in color and form. OK...my pictures are showing side by side

Thank you Mike!

Hello Doug! If the images show side by side I suggest you rotate your monitor 90 degrees!

:)
