Hello,
I want to introduce myself.
I discovered this site through the fantastic images of Charles Krebs.
I am from Germany. My main interest is cleaning, preparing and photograph diatoms from all over the world.
I am only a small beginner, looking for people with the same interests.
I am working with a Zeiss Universal and an Olympus Vanox, connected with Canon EOS 600d and Nikon D3x.
I have to excuse my terrible english language, I ask for your understanding.
Best wishes
Anne

Welcome.
Your English is perfect; reminds me of a joke from an old English comedian, Tony hancock. Describing someone he met he stated:
"I knew she wasn't English/ Because she spoke it far too well" — Tony Hancock, Fred's Pie Stall (1959)

Quote – Holmes on ‘Entomology’
” I suppose you are an entomologist ? “
” Not quite so ambitious as that, sir. I should like to put my eyes on the individual entitled to that name.
No man can be truly called an entomologist,
sir; the subject is too vast for any single human intelligence to grasp.”
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr
