Ants

Post by elegans »

Hello,

Great shots, I am in France and I study ants for my pleasure, and I know how it is difficult to make photos of these very small species in nature :smt023 :smt038

Best regards

Marc

Great shots, I guess these are single shots, not stacked, as the ants are moving. What equipment did you use (what kind of flash)?
Nikon D7000 + 50mm 1.8D

Thanks.
Single shots, stacking on a living ants is almost impossible :-)
I use nikon D90, reversed takumar 28/2.8, yongnuo yn-560 II and homemade flash diffuser.

Lovely captures, thanks for sharing. The fighting ants is nice though if you had a capture where the eyes aren't covered by the antennae it might provide more of a link with the viewer. The first shot is my pick, the gentle curve of the leaf, soft colours and position of the aphid are all great.

Excellent shots and far better than any ant shots I have. Nice clean backgrounds and nice selective focus, bang on where it should be. Wonderful details and behaviour in these shots as well.

All the best and again, excellent shots, all of them :-)

Danny.
Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.
