Vampyrella: The vampire Ameba

Post by fpelectronica »

Hello
By their appearance could seem a Heliozoo, however it is an amoeba; Vampyrella lateritia.
This amoeba has numerous threadlike pseudopodos that give the appearance of Heliozoo and through which pierces the cellulose membranes of filamentous algae and sucks its content (see end of video). Moves by issuing lobed pseudopodos.

Very nice video! At the end of it you can see the amoeba leaving a digestive cyst.

Very nice beast and video, Francisco

Your movies are improving each time. I find the light flickering a bit disturbing, is it due to the microscope lamp or to the camera autoexposure?

Is due to the fluctuation of the electric network.
I have complained many times to the supplier (Iberdrola). Answer fluctuations are "normal". Iberdrola= Price very expensive service, low quality service.
