Very cool Mineral Steve. Does it have any Commercial value or is only interesting to people who collect Rocks & minerals?

I agree, I like the color here and am also interested in its potential "value".

I'm wondering if you should try to reshoot this and use Helicon Focus on it to get a greater DOF (or if that's even what you want/need for this purpose). Rocks and minerals don't move like bugs do so it's easier at least.

Thanks guys.

It does have a value in that it is a rare mineral, only recorded from a small number of locations.

Carl - I do like the slight softness, but I ran it through CombineZ (2 images stacked, the original plus one sharpened) and got the following result...

For what it's worth, imho, the second shot is better. Has more detail and draws the eye in. I found myself examining the facets and looking at it longer than the first shot.

However, YOU are the last word, being the artist and all. Don't be swayed by others, choose what you feel is best for your intended audience and/or purpose. :D
