On my visit to Gamboa lake I pick up some sample of green water at the side of the road and found the following Spirogyra.

Hello Rogelio,

these pictures are not only beautiful but also interesting according to a biological view. In the first and the second picture you see why they are called Conjugatophyceae. They are exchanging genetic material known as conjugation (from the Latin verb coniugare, to unite).You see in your picture (1 and 2) the conjugation in action between them.
