Hi Jacek,

I like Your pictures. :-)
Do You know what is happening to the alga on the
third image - preparing to divide?

Greetings

Jens

Micrasterias

Jacek,
Where are you getting your samples? I haven't seen any Micrasterias in a long time. I'm doing pond dips from relatively quiet ponds. Is the scum on the bottom of moving streams a better source? All I get is many species of Closterium.

I can't imagine better pictures of these organisms. Thanks for posting a photo of the source.

I also like to see photo of the source lake, collecting sample is important part of adventure with microscope for me. When I pick up something and try to guess what is hiding inside, I feel like a child again :D
Great as usually Jacek.

Very nice. It is worth to search for such a spot because when you find desmids like this it means you have a species rich environment.
