A few organisms from my favorite spring that exits an old farm house. I think the first may be Pandorina morum (looks similar to a recent example from Charlie) and the second may be a Halteria but I'm not sure about the jelly like sphere.
Pandorina morum, Halteria and ?

The first two were taken with a 40x S-plan achromat with a 2.5x NFK photoeyepiece on an Olympus BH-2 with DIC flash. The Halteria were approx 50% crop. The last one used a 100x S-plan achromat.curt0909 wrote:These are excellent. What magnification is this?

Thanks for the ID Charlie, that led to some interesting reading about "star jelly" and use as a food source. Really interesting stuff.Charles Krebs wrote:The last one looks like a colonial cyanobacteria. Possibly a species of Nostoc.
