Ciliates can have an asexual or a sexual reproduction. The asexual reproduction is made by binary fission. I show you the binary fission of a big tinitinnid (Favella?). The new ciliate has to construct his one "house" (lorica). Good luck!

hello Curt and Pau,
picture Nr. 1 is from the same sample but from an other ciliate from the same species. The sequence (in the strict sense) is starting with the picture number 2 and was about 10 minutes lasting. (In such situations generally I am not able to look on my watch but I have to "fight" with my microscope and the camera. Mybe the sequence starting with picture Nr. 2 was lasting more than 10 minutes or was not so long).
