Argggh! Bugs in My Scope!

Post by Ken Ramos »

There is this big tree in my front yard, you know the kind that ends up being on the 6 o'clock news after it was brought down on your neighbors house after a bad thunderstorm. Well anyway this tree has little red blooms all over it and I thought I would see what kind of photograph they would produce using the Meiji stereomicroscope. Well to my surprise... :D

Would ya just look at this! My first bug of the year and it ain't even spring yet. Here is a couple more of the critter. :D

Looks like some kind of soft-winged flower beetle. Beautiful little critter and photos Ken. matches the red flower very well.

It is really tiny Doug, maybe about 2 - 3 mm in length, I was more for photographing the blooms than a bug but what the heck, any port in a storm and a bugs, a bug. Thanks Doug :D
