Polychaete worm, Corycaeus

Post by Charles Krebs »

Dragged my plankton net around a little the other day. Here are shots of a small polychaete worm and the copepod Corycaeus. I had previously posted some of this copepod back in Dec 2010, but every time it shows up on a slide the unusual developed eyes look so amazing I just have to take a few more shots. (They always remind me of the "bullet" headlights on a '30's vintage car).

Thanks all!

The second one is make from a 19 image stack. (Took well over 100 images to finally get a stack with no significant subject movement)

It was worth the effort. That shot is my favorite. All are excellent shots.
