Very Rare Lens Only 3,000 Made

Post by Harold Gough »

Not a macro lens but, so far as I understand, effectively an apochromat.

I have the lens, which cost me a lot of money several years ago.

I have posted some images with or without a Marumi supplementary in front of it:

One for sale:

This is a rare opportunity to buy this excelllent lens. It seems to be a Nikon A1 mount. (Mine is an Adaptall-2).

I know I will never part with mine, all the more so since I have the x2 crop factor.

Quite an interesting lens. I'm sure you're very pleased to have one in your collection.

As best I can tell, it's mostly Zeiss who now target multi-platform, unusually high-quality, manual focus lenses these days.

I keep toying with the idea of acquiring a basic collection of their Canon-mount lenses but the lack of autofocus and to some extent image stabilization are show-stoppers since my general purpose photography too often involves moving objects. A recent case in point involves chasing my very young grandchildren around a playground and then around the beach. It was almost impossible even with these aids!

That's right. I have an awareness of them, in case my financial circumstances improve dramatically.

For some reason, I thought it was not included on the Adaptall-2 site. It is:

Very nice Harold. I remember those pretty well actually at the time. I'l share mine with you, the one on the right, the story goes only 500 made before they went autofocus........

All the best Harold, hold onto it.

Danny.
Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.

Thanks, Danny.

It's good to hear from you.

I believe in buying the best I can afford but without paying outrageous prices for performance I will not make good use of.
