Testate Amoeba for ID...video

Post by fpelectronica »

Hello
A strange, to me, testate amoeba. I'm surprised the issue of pseudopos, see 5:10
I used different lighting systems, including PACO system to highlight details that allow the correct identification
thanks
Francisco

The problem is that the shell is heavily damaged and partly broken, probably by the pressure of the coverglass. I guess it is Difflugia acuminata.

Hi ferry.
I've seen the video and I find it difficult to distinguish whether this amoeba has idiosomes or not.
I believed I see them
I must assume that it does not, is that correct?
a greeting
carlos

Hi Carlos,
No, this amoeba shell doesn't contain any idiosomes, but only mineral graines and maybe some fragmented diatom shells.
