Watched pot finally boils

In a minor forever, I watched as the flower bud formed, poked through the spines and finally opened. Usually, these flowers open incompletely. These Eriosyce are native to the Atacoma desert in Chile, were it may not rain at all for years. The plants are nourished by a nightly seafog, I stacked an image of the full plant, Eriosyce senilis,to the rightImage

Quite the hairy girl this one is, and a beautiful combo of colors in the flower. Very enjoyable IMO
