Not All that Glitters is Gold
Has anyone had a close look at one of these objectives or have additional information?
It's a JML 20X.....but that doesn't necessarily mean its magic. So exercise some caution
The seller has a boat load.

To use a classic quote from 'Antz' - "I almost know exactly what I'm doing!"
On the photos's there's something missing.
Hard to check without its outer casing and print

Do you have any idea as to what is/might be missing? Also anyone have any idea as to the thread size on this lens?canonian wrote:On the photos's there's something missing.

Currently a tray of 30 for sale, $15.00 for the lot at present.
If they are 'good' lenses we, as a group, may get a bargain.

” I suppose you are an entomologist ? “
” Not quite so ambitious as that, sir. I should like to put my eyes on the individual entitled to that name.
No man can be truly called an entomologist,

I would be willing to share in a split lot order of these.NikonUser wrote:Currently a tray of 30 for sale, $15.00 for the lot at present.

I can vouch STRONGLY for the seller. I have bought literally tons of gear from them and they are very good about describing things accurately.
They are one of my all time ebay favorites. The feedback I post for them is rather repetitive something like "Always Twenty Stars with Sunnking!"
My only relationship with them is as a multiple times satisfied customer.
My search software looks at them specifically but somehow I missed the box lot. Probably scanned over it too quickly. Had been watching the first offer and meant to post it here.
It looks like somebody ordered them without the outer sleeve that has the label. Probably they were going to go inside an instrument of some sort.
I would be in for a couple of them too if somebody is going to step up to the plate.

I could be wrong but what I was missing is the sleeve where you can read type, magnification, NA, tubelength, coverglass etc., on every one of them, also in the tray.
I'm interested in a good 20X , but US $118.26 shipping is a bit to steep for me.

Thanks for the response.
But, this may be the answer:
So, we wouldn't know the NA and additional information too readily unless we could obtain the missing information from JML.g4lab wrote:I can vouch STRONGLY for the seller. I have bought literally tons of gear from them and they are very good about describing things accurately.

It should be possible to ship one or two to European destinations for about $20 in a flat rate box.
Looking on their website they list two 20x objectives a Plan and a semiPlan
at na=0.5 and 0.4 respectively. both are infinity corrected. 1.75 and 1.20 mm working distances respectively.
They don't mention the tube lens needed.

The only lenses that I have to the best of my knowledge that I could use as a tube lens would be either my Leica 180mm f3.4 Apo Telyt lens or my Leica 70-210 f4.0 Vario Elmar lens. Do you think that either of these might work as a tube lens for the JML lens?
Thanks.

I had a quick look at the JML website and can only see one 20X objective with a reasonable working distance.
I asked the eBay seller for more information, but they were unable to add to the details in the item listing.
I've asked the eBay seller to assess working distance, hopefully they will be inclined/able to provide some indication.

Could possibly send some images of the objective to JML, maybe someone there would recognise them?Thank you for your email. I am sorry, there is no ring on these to help identify them. We were unable to locate any further information for these lenses.
