" Dramatically improve microscope resolution with an LED array and Fourier Ptychography"

A recently developed computational imaging technique combines hundreds of low resolution images into one super high resolution image that seems to exceed the optical resolution limit. This technique uses carefully positioned LEDs to measure spatial frequencies and reconstruct this information into a single image.

The video had only been up a few mins when I caught it. Nearly made me forget my nightly dose of Anton Petrov :D Fascinating stuff!

Plenty of caveats and limitations at present, but still pretty jaw-dropping despite that. It certainly looks super promising! I wonder how long before we see an example from a PMN poster? I remain in "wait and see" mode but following the topic with even greater interest (and expectations) now.

Cheers

I fully agree. It's one thing to look at super flat but super simple geometrical structures but whether it also works on something like a diatom. :-k
(Probably not)
