Bdelloid rotifer males may exist

Post by Lou Jost »

I have seen many great photos here of bdelloid rotifers. The website "Why Evolution is True" by Jerry Coyne has highlighted two new genetic articles arguing that these famously parthenogenetic animals are probably sneaking sex now and then, at least one time per hundred generations, even though no one has ever found a male. A challenge for Forum members!

Interesting, and I wish I could use the phrase "sneaky f-ers" in one of my technical papers :D
