DNG converter...batch mode?

Post by ray_parkhurst »

I'm trying to use the DNG converter but it seems to only be able to do a single image at a time, and it's slow. I typically need to do 2 sets of 20 images for a simple stack and stitch, and it's impractical to do these one at a time. Is there a version of the converter that can do batch processing? Or is there another option for batch processing .dng files into .tif ?

I didn't even know there was a way to use it other than a folder at the time!

I've set it so that it has input folder and output folder and after opening the program, I just click for it to run batch. Seemed pretty fast for me, but converting a couple of thousand images at the time does take awhile.

I don't think we're talking about the same program. Here's what mine looks like:

Hi,
As far as I understand you correctly, you want to convert DNG to TIFF.
Does your camera create the RAW images in DNG format?
Then you could use LightRoom and develop the RAW files with it.

I'm trying to get a useable workflow for the A7Rm4 in pixel shift mode. The Sony Imaging Edge software greatly oversharpens the output, so I am using the Pixel Shift to DNG software to composite the images. Problem is then to convert the DNG to TIFF for stacking. The DNG converter does this, but takes minutes per image, and I have to do 40 of them so I would need to sit there and process images one by one for an hour or more.

OK, but DNG can be converted to TiFF by LR.
And you can develop the DNG before synchronising.
