I'm Jason - I've been involved in optics and biology for a while now as part of my engineering career but I'm just recently getting into amateur microscopy as a hobby. Right now I've got a Journey to the Microcosmos microscope, a Swift 380B, two Olympus BHTUs, and one BHT with an RFCA illuminator. I guess I'm an Olympus specialist so far but I'll probably branch out eventually.
My main interest is microvideography with a focus on live microbes. I'm rocking a Sony A7III right now but I'm really regretting not splurging for an A7SIII so I can do high bit depth 4k60 video. Some day that'll happen.
Here's my latest video with the new RFCA illuminator: https://youtu.be/ljIENMytfU0
And here's my most ambitious video to date - a video review of the Journey to the Microcosmos microscope: https://youtu.be/kkdIQZX-LJo (they did pretty well for an amateur scope!)
One of my hopes is that I can help make hobbyist microscopy more popular and accessible for younger folks. I'm planning on making some practical hobbyist videos (buying guides, objective comparisons, etc) as well as educational videos on microscope related optical concepts. Consider poking around the channel a little bit and subscribing if you want to see what I'm getting up to . Face reveal at 100 subs
Lets get to know each other better. Here's a forum to post images and short autobiographies of ourselves as well as any other info you would like to post about yourself.
