Very interesting, Rik. :D

When I read news articles about scientific studies, I often want to peruse the actual journal article. How I wish that news reporters would learn to provide a link. (Or in this case, even name the study's lead author, Vivek Nityananda.)

So after just a bit of looking, one turns up Newcastle University's press office's release on the study, which is worth reading. The actual paper in Nature Scientific Reports is open access, and can be read here: Insect stereopsis demonstrated using a 3D insect cinema.
