Cloudless Sulfur Butterfly - Part 1

Post by Marcepstein »

We started a butterfly garden a few years ago with native butterfly host plants and had pretty good results on a variety of butterflies. One was of the Cloudless Sulfur Butterfly (Phoebis sennae) that used Cassia a lot. So this part shows some life stages in the Cloudless Sulfur. The images were taken with a 1D Mark III and EOS ef180mm macro lens and the closeups of the egg capsule with the Canon MP-e65 macro.

That is interesting. For me, this lovely butterfly can be found farther south, but I've struggled with getting good pictures since they are very wary. But this is the way to really get good pix.
