Outdated camera + possibly inadequate objective + broken tube lens = excellent results in good hands!

It's generally accepted that Zeiss infinite objectives (for Axios) need corrections done at the tube lens.
What kind of 10X Zeiss was it?
Did you make lateral CA corrections?

My guess is one from the primostar line which are non-compensating (olympus clones made by Motic).

It is a Zeiss Jena Planachromat + 10x/0.20 ∞/-A according to the writing on the side. No CA removal. Actually I just got the Zeiss stereo microscope with the 10x, 40x, 50x and 100x objectives and he threw in an Olympus camera mount for the trinocular port for $100 Canadian. The 40x, 50x and 100x have spring noses. I probably paid too much (winky eye).

Oh, the 30D, yup, outdated dinosaur but a little better than the original Canon Rebel, my other 1.6 crop camera.

OK, so they belong to the CF 250 series, full corrected planachromats designed for 250mm tube lens.

Likely this isn't a stereo microscope, BTW

I have no clue, no name plate on microscope. German plates on back, made in GDR. I gather then it is a "stereo" mono via mirrors for the eye pieces? I just wanted the 10x objective. Are these CF 250's good/bad? Thanx for your opinion.

Ah, nice. Cf250s have a fairly good reputation in general (though they are thinly used) and are fully internally corrected.

If you see the same image through both eyepieces, then it's just "binocular". ("Trinocular" since you have the camera port.)

"Stereo" implies two different images that convey depth.
