Hi

Macroscopic in magnifying scale.
The picture shows the surface of a pincer of the Red or White-spotted Hermit Crab (Dardanus megistos).
It is NOT from a live animal, but from the stripped skin,
which it buried in the sand.

Interesting. Their sensory hairs look to be designed quite differently from insects.
