Innards of a watch I bought in the early 1970s. Time was regulated by an electronic tuning fork vibrating at 360Hz.

Accutrons were marvels in their day! Much more interesting than a modern digital watch!

Yes, I believe Accutrons were state-of-the-art back then. But if I set the watch on a dresser or table, the constant 360 Hz whine could be very annoying at bedtime. I had to bury the watch in a sock-drawer to muffle the sound.
