Ixodes ricinus

Post by mgausp »

Although I am admiring your postings for quite a while now, this is my first post in this forum. I do photography since many years but only recently started to really get into focus stacking so I still try to fine tune my technique.
Today, I would like to share with you a stack of a european deer tick, Ixodes ricinus with the hypostome exposed.

The tick was killed in isopropyl alcohol and glued onto a toothpick. The lighting is done with a speedlight in a small softbox from the front and a with DIY fiber optic flash from the top and from behind (like a rimlight).

I hope you enjoy the image!
