Hi ADi
Excellent as always! Let me ask you - did you bathe that fly in ultrasound? Was it pure distilled water? I ask because all my bath attempts end up leaving spots on the compound eyes. I tried water with a drop of detergent, 70% spirit, pure ethyl spirit, isopropyl spirit and even a contact lens solution. The results have always been deplorable. What is the best way to bathe insects so that there are no stains on the eyes? What to do to prevent the antennas from sticking together? Dry by blowing? And one more thing. I wondered for a moment that such a stack had to last at least a dozen or so minutes, so the water should evaporate (considering the lighting heat). I figured it probably was evaporating, but the layers on which there was a single drop lasted so short that the evaporation was not noticeable. Am I right?

Hello Pawel,
- No, this one was cleaned dry with the help of air and brush.
- The water did not evaporate, probably because I used a thick two-layer diffuser that also provided thermal insulation :-)

Hello. This trick might help you with compound eyes.

Hello Pawel,
I know this problem.
The following fly (first and third picture) was cleaned in the ultrasound device.
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=42851
After bathing it in water with sidolin, I washed it in isopropanol and then in distilled water.
Nevertheless, the water spots remained.
That is why I now try to clean dry the flies.
