In the full size version, it looks like the tip of the beetle's left mandible is tucked behind the leg.
Is that properly rendered, or is there some sort of "transparent foreground" artifact?

Nice catch! Now that you say it... no, it is not properly rendered. I made the stack yesterday and quickly edited it today, I am very busy these days
In Zerene I wrongly retouched the leg's transparency instead of the mandible's one... I'll get it right when I have some free time.
